I have always loved this place! Originally developed as a summer retreat by my parents in the mid to late 1970's, where they would come to escape the grueling Miami heat while my Mom was on summer vacation from her teaching job and Dad had already retired, they spent every summer here until Mom retired and they bought a house 30 miles away in Talbott, TN. They kept this property for the rest of their lives, both as a personal retreat and for guests, and as I was the kid that loved it the most I took over ownership in 2007. Although it was always my wish to live there one day and build a house in the beautiful clearing up back, my husband finally let it be known that he has always lived in Texas, and Texas is where he wants to stay! So, with great reluctance on my part (but three cheers from my hubby), I am putting this property on the market.

Originally farmed in the early days (the 1800's?), there is still a pile of rocks where the farmer's plow was turned, and an old logging trail at the back of the property. Bunches of frogs live at the very front of the property in a swampy area that could possibly be converted to a lake, and their nightly songs fill the air in the summer months. Narrower in the front, the property expands in the back and wraps around the backside of the neighbor's five acres. In addition to the year-round creek that crosses under the first bridge on the way up to the trailer, there are multiple wet-weather creeks on the property. Deer and turkey frequent the grounds, and on summer nights you can often hear a whippoorwill. It is the perfect mixture of mature forest and open field, with plentiful water resources both in the creek(s) and in the well.

A beloved antique in its own right, the 8' X 40' 1955 Spartan Imperial Mansion trailer, though rustic looking on the outside, is beautiful on the inside, featuring the original polished birch walls and ceiling, and a wooden floor added in 2008. The kitchen and bathroom were also updated in 2008, including sinks, counter-tops, toilet and water heater. The refrigerator and stove top are original and still work. There is also a wall oven we have never used (my mother was afraid of gas ovens), so it would need to be checked out prior to use. The trailer also has a septic tank (cleaned out around 2010), and is hooked up to City of Mooresburg electricity and water. It also has a well, though not a current well pump, as we now use City water.
